Geodata in the Economy Survey
The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) Workforce Program is investigating the scope of the impact of geologic maps and related data in the economy. This survey is a follow-up to the preliminary survey on the General Use of Geologic Map Data, but not completeing the prior survey does not preclude responding to this instrument. For the purpose of this study, geologic map data includes not only traditional bedrock geologic maps, but also maps of any data of a generally immutable property of a location, such as gravity, magnetics, hazards/flood risk, etc. The results of this survey will be compiled into a freely-available public report, with a planned availability by mid-2018.
